Shot on a Canon R5 in crop mode at 26,000iso because my hands are so shaky and I needed to get the shutter speed up with my EF 400/4L lens.

Looks good, does the canon or lens not have IBS? If not you can get a decent tripod that's light weight and carry it around attached to the camera for fast shots

I also shoot with a 400mm and hate tripods, I only use one if I'm shooting video. Stabilization is a godsend with these lenses but I don't think woots one has it.

I've been thinking about a monopod though 🤔

I have a tripod that's light and has good range. I just flat out leave it on the camera and carry it around if it's a short hike.

I bet a monopod would be better tbh

I don't know if it's got a pooping problem but the body has IBIS. The lens doesn't though and my hands are very shaky lol. I do have a tripod and monopod but I find it harder to aim and fire when using one. Eventually I'll just get the 100-400 with in-lens stabilization.

I get that, when I take wild life shots I try to set up in a spot and catch animals as they arrive. It's a lot harder to do live shots
