Taking out a loan for a vacation is S-Tier r-slurred. Not even on credit, a fricking loan. Hope that trip was worth the hole that you're in now.

They have ads now for these payday-loan apps (e.g. Brigit) where they explicitly promote using loans to buy snacks and drugs. It's so nefarious it's almost funny.

Also surest sign we're in a bubble is that there's no pushback on this mentality. It's encouraged everywhere.

Unironically based, anyone taking the offer deserves to stay poor

On a bunch of vacation sites they literally have a button to use Affirm to Klarna to take out loans. Sometimes its just 0% interest split over a few months but you can a year long repayments with stupid interest rates.

Growing up in a shithole country was great for my financial literacy - all I had to do was look around at all the poorcels buying shit in 72 easy payments of $xxx with a stupid interest rate to know I'd never do anything close. When I moved here I don't remember seeing this shit, other than obvious payday loans. Now it's everywhere.

I'm moneyd now but I was once poor and I cannot imagine taking out a loan for a vacation unless I was dying of cancer or something. If you need to get a loan you can't afford vacation.

Honestly it's completely r-slurred either way but isn't a loan smarter than putting it on credit? Credit cards have abysmal APRs. Unless you have one of those 0% APR sign up bonuses and can pay it off before that expires, I guess. Are loan APRs even worse? I've never had to take one out.

Late, but payday loans can have APRs of over 500%.

Oh yeah those awful payday loans are the worst option, I was thinking about a personal loan/line of credit/whatever

Assuming OP wasn't dumb enough to take a payday loan. :marseymerchant: Goldman Sachs :marseymerchant: at least offers "personal loans" for vacations and shit which have APRs between 6% and 24%. The high end seems to be higher than credit card rates.

If you need to take out a loan for 6000 it should be illegal for you to travel more than 50 miles from your place of residence
