So I was still getting distracted by some personal stuff from time to time but have now found a very neurodivergent solution to it that works.
I remembered this post I once read on reddit about an neurodivergent woman who would thank the machines in her house after using them.
So whenever I have distracting thoughts now, I tell my mind," Please not right now. I have to focus on this other thing right now. For some reason this has seen a doubling or tripling in how fast unwanted thoughts go away." I speak to my mind as if it's an external entity that I require things from and that seems to help further improve communication and cooperation.
Let's see if it keeps working today and tomorrow and the days to come.
I am also getting good at not being overcome by hunger.
I am still terrible at handling cold.
How do you wake up early during a cold day? What's the trick?
I have gotten better at pushing myself to perform tasks. The internal seed message is working for now.
I just need to double down one more time and I should be out of my hole finally by the end of the month.
Good luck to you and good luck to me.

This actually sounds like a really good way of dealing with intrusive thoughts that I hadn't considered before. Ty!

As far as I can tell it does work. How effectively? I haven't tried it long enough to be able to tell. You should post your results as well to help out other dramanauts find out what works or not.

I did it today kinda. I have a lot of difficulty doing all the bs paperwork at my job. Usually I have to consume copious amounts of coffee to literally get any of it done. Today I didn't drink any coffee and instead in the beginning of the day I sort of "other-ed" my mind/body and said to it "Thank you for everything you do. I know when you're distracting me you mean well but we really need to get to work today. Let's focus on doing that today. Thank you for your help." I did this in a genuine, gratitude-filled way and it worked. I got a lot of work done. At the end of the day I also sent thanks to it.
I think it helps unify the mind a bit and make it less like you are fighting yourself.
