Dismissive-avoidant is fricking one of four types of attachment styles:

I just put a lot of value on independence, and loathe the thought of being codependent with someone. Not that I wouldn't love them, but I feel like I need to be a full person as myself, with relationships building off that.

I also take a very long time to trust people. Arguably my parents are the only people I really unconditionally trust. I don't have any trauma related to this, there's no moment of betrayal in my life that caused me to be this way, it's just who I am.

I don't think you have to have “trauma” to have this inclination. And yes you are very independent and strong on your own and that's a really great quality you have! For me I get anxious being smothered or tied to someone but other than that I am a good partner usually (I think).
