Problem with DEI is actually qualified minorities are often still gatekept out of these positions because in order to be successful you're gonna have to experience some adversity. But the programs are really for bleeding hearts to give those who aren't that qualified a chance and then pat themselves on the back when the reject them afterwards. I bet there are maybe two black people at Wizards of the Coast and they are both black lesbians even though the few black people I see play magic are dudes. Also most black dudes play Yu-gi-oh because it was on TV. Not because there was a black person in it.

Debating with people like this is actually super frustrating. They get emotional and personal very fast after they exhausted their memorized arguments. Going "source, souce?" is a thing they learned on these workshops too. It's all designed to waste more of your time than of theirs so you just resign and give up.

If this is a woman (which is likely), they will also dismiss any per capita arguments by you by citing an edge case or two.

Good question. Maybe by spelling out that DEI means "Diversity, equity, inclusion", you force the people to spell that they are against "inclusion" specifically, falsely insisting that the literal meanings of the words is what DEI means.

Something like this:

not going to read all that but this smaller comment I read

I…I have never read much of Marks stuff. I'm just a guy that loves the game he creates. But, I'm also a black man. I have helped create black spaces for gaming in my own little community and I make even an ounce of that blackness present in my day to day career.

I've had to have A LOT of DEI conversations recently. And why it is absolutely necessary. And Mark did a better job than I typically do in this single post.
