Imagine the scenario. You're a dirty no good cheating b-word and you have Larry at the top of your message list begging for another suck sesh.
A random r-slur with camera and mic comes up to you and says you should give your phone to him so we can check it for sneaky sexting live on tiktok. What do you do?
Let's say you're also an r-slur and you agree to this random r-slurs demand and your frick buddy is revealed, as you knew it would be. The r-slur then says "yo we should all call your frick buddy together and see how he's doing". What do you do?
If you actually continue with this demand there's literally no other possible option other than you're getting paid to do so.

That is true. But people are fricking stupid when they get called out on the spot and they're not prepared for it. Look at all the people who get brought in for interrogation who can't keep their mouth shut and end up burying themselves. Every person knows to keep their mouth shut when a detective brings you in for questioning, and yet most people can't help themselves just from the panic they are experiencing.
I could honestly see someone irrationally thinking "if I don't hand my phone over im cooked regardless, but maybe they won't see the texts or maybe Larry wont pick up or he'll play stupid for some unknown reason."

I think this is the best way to think about it.
Think of the people on the street who are asked trivia questions, then say Lincoln was the first president and meat is a vegetable. When you're not prepared for a mic to go up to your face, your IQ is liable to drop 50 points.
