Edit: Browsers?
Edit 2: She also wrote a paper about "Algorithmic Reparations":
Rooted in theories of Intersectionality, reparative algorithms name, unmask, and undo allocative and representational harms as they materialize in sociotechnical form. We propose algorithmic reparation as a foundation for building, evaluating, adjusting, and when necessary, omitting and eradicating machine learning systems.
[...]
We make this case in the body of the text above, suggesting a move away from fairness, replaced by an anti-oppressive, Intersectional approach. We intend for this approach to guide algorithmic design and to act as an evaluative standard by which existing algorithmic systems are judged, adjusted, and where necessary, omitted or dismantled. Our proposal is thus geared towards building better systems and holding existing ones to account.

Summary for those just joining us:
Advent of Code is an annual Christmas themed coding challenge that runs from December 1st until christmas. Each day the coding problems get progressively harder. We have a leaderboard and pretty good turnout, so feel free to hop in at any time and show your stuff!
Whether you have a single line monstrosity or a beautiful phone book sized stack of OOP code, you can export it in a nice little image for sharing at https://carbon.vercel.app
What did you think about today's problem?
Our Code is 2416137-393b284c (No need to share your profile, you have the option to join anonymously if you don't want us to see your github)

The developer finally grew a spine and realized he didn't want to do it for free. So he added some code to his library (SponsorLink) that runs in your IDE, reads your .gitconfig, checks if your email address is registered as a sponsor, and possibly slows down your build if it's not.
Reddit reactions:
I wonder if anyone at Microsoft uses this internally 😂 Hope they get their emails harvested
The Github issue and Reddit threads on this are pretty calm. Maybe there will be more drama in the coming days/weeks, when companies forbid their employees from using this library, and code monkeys have to rewrite all their unit tests. Redditards are trying to reportmaxx SponsorLink but nothing has happened yet.

Guy searches for a good open source text editor, becomes progressively more deranged over the course of the video, and ends up spending $500, on a text editor.

in the late 2000s there was a failed academic landgrab in the digital humanities called "critical code studies", where non-programmers tried to conduct critical readings of code snippets. it went about as well as you would expect

Opensea has been exploited by a group of hackers notorious for flash-loan attacks, but this time it was different. They used a complicated bug in the contract to steal users their NFTs & tokens.
