[-9] All this rage over an interview? Jeez, listen to it with discernment. You are not a child.
[8] The people they are pushing this propaganda to are pretty incapable of critical thinking. They've shown us that time and time again.
[-9] If someone doesn't realize Putin has his angle and propaganda too, then I don't know what to say. lol
[6] Unfortunately the "someone" in this case is way too many members of the US Republican Party.
Well he's right we must protect the stupid low IQ bigots among us who are intellectually incapable of comprehending the nuances and ramifications of of people lying.
[-18] I don't agree with Tucker on most things, ever. But there's nothing wrong with interviewing the leader of a nation, especially at these times. Talking to others, even if you disagree with them, is never the wrong thing to do.
[1] Propaganda is usually a net negative for the average citizen.
[-1] Every ad and most of all major news media is in some form propaganda. This statement means nothing. I'll reserve my judgement until I see the questions he asks.
[1] Yeah it turned out exactly how we knew it would. Propaganda for a genocidal tyrant.
[1] Still important to understand his views considering his position. I disagree with him but it's important nonetheless to understand his views.
Silly redditor, it's for your own good that this interview be supressed and censored. Your impressionable mind is too feeble to grasp the reality of the situation.
[12] This interview is like interviewing Hitler in 1940 to present "both sides". That interview is nothing but pure propaganda.
Not the heckin BOTH SIDERRINNOSSSS!!
[-2] Or Saddam before the war in Iraq
[-6] What does Trump have to do with this? Tucker is doing his job as a journ*list, figuring out what is going on in the world and sharing it with everyone. Russia has been at war with Ukraine and it's kinda off that nobody has even talked to Putin.
[5] Journ*list
[8] Tucker is not a journ*list - he's an entertainer. He starts with the message/conclusions he wants to rpesent and then finds evidence to back it. The opposite of what a journ*list does.
[-2] I can't believe Tucker would interview someone who has done such horrible things to his citizens. Need I remind you of his horrific crimes:
Putin used the KGB to subvert and trick peaceful demonstrators (that were simply protesting against his election fraud) to enter the Kremlin in order to charge them with an "insurrection".
Putin prevented the Russian border patrol from expelling non-Russians from entering Russia so that he could give them voting rights and rule Russia with one party rule.
Putin used the rigged court system to charge his main political opponent who spoke out against his regime with made up charges.
Putin illegally spied on his political opponent's campaign and made up bogus rumors that his opponent was in cahoots with the American government in order to hamstring his opponent's administration.
[-2] It's kind of the job of journ*lists to interview bad people. We've celebrated this for decaqtes. Barbara Walters interviewing Fidel Castro. ABC's John Miller interviewing Osama Bin Laden. Up until very recently we all agreed that asking difficult questions and free speech were important and vital to any democratic society.
So... what changed your mind?
[-2] penguinshottakes We cannot platform evil people like Putin or Trump if we want to keep our Democracy™️ going.
[0] So you flat out disagree that free speech is important to democracy, and all the founding fathers got that one wrong.
[-1] penguinshottakes We cannot allow racist disinformation like "we need to enforce border laws" and "the greate replacement is real" unless we want to fall under a dascistic regime that would actually protect their constituents. This is not allowed under Democracy™️.
[2] Ahhh frick. Should have read your username. lol
[-3] Remember, people like that unironically call normal Americans 'fascists' while saying with a straight face that we should not have freedom of speech and while saying things that Tucker should have his US citizenship revoked and not allowed to re-enter America.
[0] Exactly ;)
[3] Tucker Carlson isn't a journ*list though. His own legal team argued that no reasonable person would believe him. "Fox persuasively argues, that given Mr. Carlson's reputation, any reasonable viewer 'arrive[s] with an appropriate amount of skepticism' about the statement he makes."
[11] Wow, your vision of Putin sounds an awful lot like the fever dream, hysteria-induced liberal boogeyman that Trump's brainwashed followers believe are out to get them.
[2] Also sounds a little like what the guy they support could become if he gets a second term, and especially if he also gets Congress.
[-27] Why is so bad to let the public know what Putin thinks? I don't like him but I want to know what he has to say. Why liberals so upset about freedom of press and speech ?
[8] You can easily find out what Putin thinks on the Internet. What you're saying is you want to enjoy seeing Carlson GOP slobber on Putins knob
[1] Ok so no more Biden or selenszky interviews form any liberal media form now on? I support Ukraine but the left has gone insane with the censoring and fearmongering. It's just an interview. I bet it will be most watched interview ever
[14] Because propaganda for the simple minded is dangerous, look at Jan 6.
[-1] there is low iq on both sides that's not a question. But it's jsut an interview same as cnn interviews pelosi or Biden or any extreme left politician. and the left also riot and more than the right I would say. Jan 6 was unfortunate true but this is just an interview
[3] You must be joking…. bOtH sIdEs…. Lmao
Yeah dude, only one side tried to hang the vice president, attacked the capitol and STILL believes somehow the 2020 election was stolen DESPITE no evidence of that actually happening…. Lmao
[-3] Everything and anything that can help to understand the tragedies taken place in Ukraine should be aired.
None of you have to believe Putin or Carlson, and none of you have to take their words as truth. I know I won't.
So what the frick is so wrong with actually getting insight into why this maniac invaded Ukraine in the first place?
[3] Russian propaganda TV that calls for nuking London and other European capitols also slobbers over Tucker Carlson that's why. He's a Kremlin asset and we already have heard from Putin's own mouth. We know his narrative. The interview is nothing more than being an apologist for a monster.
[-2] yada-yada fear mongering. any argument I hear that goes against free journ*lism and freedom of speech is mute. you have no right, nor no bounds, to stop the spread of individual journ*listic integrity so you can sit on your butt and get spoon-fend propaganda by western outlets, nor vice-versa for those sucking in the Russian propaganda.
things are not, and will never be, cut and dry. people lie, cheat, and deceive. If you need any evidence, you need only look into your own countries' mirror, as well as into Russian's, and any other country not being demolished by 1st-world imperialism. terror isn't circumvented if you don't see it or feel it happen to yourself. you are merely complicit when it serves you best.
[5] So ignore the facts I stated with some nonsense deflecting drivel. Gotcha, all too typical. Why not do your own research?
Putin has stated his intentions and motivations a hundred times over and people have poked holes through all his bullshit a hundred times over. You waited two years into the invasion until a pro-Russian filtered interview by Tucker Carlson to gain perspective. Tells me all I need to know.
[-2] too typical for what? would you like to paint me as a Russian sympathizer too, as is all too common for folks who don't understand nuance and integrity of belief?
i love how you all say you fight against monsters, fascists, and the like, but can't hope to ever take in a belief different than your own.
Heck, at least mine came from my heart, and not from someone else's' blackened one.
[-8] [deleted] by user Putin has been interviewed by many famous US journ*lists over the years, interesting how this one is suddenly different.
[13] Tucker Carlson is in no way, shape or form a legitimate journ*list.
Tucker Carlson promotes grossly distorted misinformation, notably the nonsense that Donald Trump “won” in 2020
Tucker Carlson peddles white supremacist propaganda, notably the xenophobic “great replacement theory.”
Tucker Carlson obsequiously kowtows to demagogues, con artists, and outright frauds—the very latest of whom is murderous Russian strongman/ thug Vladimir Putin.
[-14] *Tucker Carlson has views I don't like therefore he is not a journ*list
[9] His lawyers argued he was not a journ*list in his Fox News defense
It added that Fox News "submits that the use of that word or an accusation of extortion, absent more, is simply 'loose, figurative, or hyperbolic language' that does not give rise to a defamation claim."
US District Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil agreed with Fox's premise, adding that the network "persuasively argues" that "given Mr. Carlson's reputation, any reasonable viewer 'arrive[s] with an appropriate amount of skepticism' about the statements he makes."
[-28] It seems presumptive to so speculate before the interview is posted...
Yeah. He's a proven liar and grifter. He even argued in court that he's an entertainer. Not a journ*list.
But I'm sure this interview is in good faith 🙄
[-34] Man from a side that talks about democracy all the time you all are ok with censoring media.
[-24] They are so delusional on here man lol
It's a great read while taking a shit though.
[-7] I just love reading the "conspiracy theories" that most of the commenters have in this post.
[0] The new one seems to be that Tucker is there to pass a message from Trump to Putin. I've been seeing it all day.
[21] Who is talking about censoring media?
[-4] Literally 90% of Reddit
[9] /r/conservative
[-9] Oh darn I thought I was in a politics sub, not a far left sub.
[10] I'm honestly trying to understand what you're talking about- who on the left is talking about censoring media and what does that have to do with fair criticism of Tucker Carlson going to speak to the leader of an enemy state?
[-3] Well look around subs,X whatever you are on. The far left saying this not be aired, arrest Carlson, how dare Musk allow this ect… I for one am curious what Putin says and what Carlson asks. We are supporting Ukraine who is a non nato country and believe everything that comes out of Zelinskys mouth maybe we need to hear the other side. Its interesting. Not sure if you have blinders on or not but it's intetesting.
[6] I respect that might be a conversation that is happening, but what's that got to do with this particular article?
[2] Well if you read the comments beside mine there's so much crying about censoring, arresting, charging with treason, how dare Musk let this happen. Mainly referring to that crowd.
[9] Literally, no one here has said anything about censoring Tucker - you're just making shit up.
The issue isn't about silencing Tucker Carlson; it's about the implications of him appearing to align with Putin, a known war criminal opposed by the US and EU.
By giving Putin a platform, there's a risk of spreading misleading narratives or propaganda, especially without critical questioning.
[-6] Zelinsky was able to address Congress, give interviews and have press conferences. Would it be so bad to hear what the leader of one of the most powerful countries in the world has to say?
Putin hates freedom so make sure you stop someone from speaking to him on Twitter? Hypocritical?
[5] Putin is making use of Tucker.
[-9] Finally a real journ*list doing their job. Let americans know both sides to the coin rather than have our government propaganda shoved in our faces
[1] What media company does he work for again? Wasn't he fired for pushing lies he knew to be lies? Do you even know what journ*lism is or what it entails?
[0] his departure from Fox News was a condition of the network's defamation settlement with Dominion Voting Systems, totaling $787.5m. Carlson suggested that the decision was made shortly before a trial was set to begin, and emphasized that he was not fired for violating his contract but rather his show was taken off the air as part of the settlement agreement. Fox News, however, has categorically denied this claim oai_citation:1,Tucker Carlson reveals what he claims to be real reason he was fired from Fox News | The Independent. He works for his own bc the media companies arent real journ*lists rather just an extension of government propaganda. Clearly you think journ*lism is repeating the lies of the government. Tucker now gets 20x more views on his own show than CNN and FOX.
[-16] He wanted to interview years ago Reddit, stop this defamation
[4] Tucker Carlson isn't a journ*list though, his legal team argued in court that no rational person would believe the things he says.
[-18] This sort of baffles me. On the one hand Putin is a master of disinformation and can never be trusted according to democrats. He even influences our elections! But on the other he is stupid/simple enough for democrats to know his true intentions. Which is it? So like whatever Putin says is some deep twisted propaganda play but at the same time we know the actual truth because his motives are so obvious and he is too stupid to conceal them? It makes no sense logically.
[8] Sounds like dottering old mastermind Biden, who is both a walking vegetable and also thwarting the GOP at every turn.
Putin is a monstrous dictator and we've known that as a world for a while now. It's not hard to figure out what he wants. Just like Trump. We know what they want. Putin isn't stupid, but Trump certainly is.
[3] The similarities between the two are astounding. They will literally lie about doing something you are actively watching them do in real time. Can not admit error.
Putin is who Trump wants to be when he grows up. Smarter, and with autocratic power.
[-4] So, for what reason would the US govt not arrest carlson when he steps back on US soil for being an obvious foreign agent? Serious question.
[-1] [deleted] by user Arrest him for journ*lism?
[1] Go back to conservative, magat.
[2] He's not a journ*list. Look it up.
[-1] [deleted] by user “A journ*listic interview takes the form of a conversation between two or more people: interviewer(s) ask questions to elicit facts or statements from interviewee(s). Interviews are a standard part of journ*lism and media reporting.”
[3] Carlson is a talk-show host… not a journ*list. Even his lawyers and Fox have explained this. Please look it up. Just because you interview someone (example: police officer questioning a subject) does not make you a journ*list.
[1] [deleted] by user At fox sure he was a talk show host. He's not on Fox. Now he owns his own media company/podcast and he's going to interview the president of Russia. That's journ*lism
[1] I still wouldn't classify him as a journ*list but rather a political entertainer. Just my thoughts. He lied a few times about Putin on his recap of the interview which means if he is calling himself a journ*list, he's simply not factual
[-9] Y'all are pooping on Tucker, but his journ*lism possibly just proved Russian collusion among state representatives. Basically, he's providing evidence of treachery in the GOP.
So, are you blind or stupid for hating this interview?
[5] What did he say in the interview that proved collusion? I'm not subscribed to read WaPo and I'm not going to give tuckers sites the views.
Here's another thread with wordswordswords vs wordswordswords about who's in the right
There's so much but just use reddit search for "tucker carlson vladimir putin" and look at the dates, I'm sure new threads will pop up. They're getting locked pretty fast by the jannys

It's not bakhmut, it's worse since bakhmut at worst had 2 routes out of the city while Ukraine has now 1 and that is 500 meters away from Russian position and this road is 6km long so riding those 6km Russian will be always 500km away. At this point there won't be a successful retreat especially when Russian captured 20% of another city in the south and in north pushing hard and Ukraine is out of men to actually penetrate a retreat route for avdiivkacels but who know mb the goal is to create new videos for Eurovision where Ukrainian soldiers hiding in bunkers

If the city of #Avdiivka falls, will be captured by the Russians, it will forever be etched in world history as the fault of the Republican Party. And no one will ever remember Reagan. Everyone will be remembered @GOP as traitors to the West and Europe!!

Foids just have to ad unreal amount of pathos in everything. People will forget about avdiivka in 2 weeks after it falls and people like her will act like it wasn't big deal and Ukraine spring counteroffensive will reach Crimea tomorrow
https://x.com/olenawave/status/1717647145644232822
In late 2023 she still was insisting that 100k people got killed in Mariupol while that city population was at peak 446k people and at that time she wrote
Total confirmed killed civilians since 2022 and in whole country was 9701 killed civilians.
People kinda remember Reagan because he was from pre internet and fast food media today people barely remember George Floyd and now act like he was bad person same people who were crying for him. Same with Zaluzhnyy yesterday hero today villain. So nobody will remember avdiivka

Made me wonder if there are different norms in Ukraine. They said he “offered” for Zaluzhny to resign, rather than “asked for” his resignation. The former would maybe be to make sure he knows that he's not obligated to be there if he's had enough, to make sure you've got someone who wants to be doing the job. The latter would be more like “I can either fire you, or you can spare yourself the embarrasment and quit.” But maybe it's more of the latter and just sounds like the former, with Zaluzhny maybe calling Zelensky's bluff? Or they could be putting on an act of internal strife, hoping Russia will underestimate them.
Zelenskyy basically said he don't plan to fire Zaluzhnyy solo and that he prepares a list
Zelenskyi asked for resignation to avoid criticism, he as a president have every right to remove Zaluzhnyi from his position, but currently in Ukraine Zaluzhnyi have much higher trust and popularity amongst population, it is one of the reason he is being dismissed for and also the reason why Zelensky don't want to just openly dismiss him.
From the reports Zaluzhnyi refused to leave by himself, it seems when asked he was offered just some diplomatic position in 'exchange'.
Not fully brain dead Redditor oxymoron
Ukraine had some of the worst post-1991 outcomes and was ravaged by oligarchs. And as a result, people of Ukraine have been pushed around by a bunch of thug leadership since then, being milked for whatever lazy profit can be made off of the backs of their people and on their land. And emphasis on lazy profit, because a huge part of this conflict lies in the untapped potential for Ukraine. In the last 30 years there's been no development, no major economic growth, etc because the corruption won't even let a little bit of money get through so that Ukraine can, for example, start drilling for their own oil.
Maybe controversial, but in 5 years down the road, or probably more like 10 years, you'll probably see stories about how ridiculous percentages of the military and humanitarian aid was stolen. It's all from shit like buying lower quality items and pocketing the money. It doesn't get revealed for years after because it sometimes does become hard to track or hard to prove. But it does impact the bottom line of surviving a war.
It's sad to me that even during this war the oligarchs have no shame. Russia's own corruption was catching up to them with some of their equipment failures during the invasion of Kiev, so having seen that, you'd think they'd recognize why even Russia suddenly stopped cutting corners on military financing. But I guess Ukrainian oligarchs really have no attachment to any of it since they're opportunists.
Noooo Redditor stop
But here comes my kind of Redditor
