But in proper Bears fashion, they still had him go out and do a Zoom call with beat reporters this morning...and then fired him, so now there's gonna be questions about why did they make him do that?
He also answered questions about the clock management at the end of the game. I don't know if it was during that zoom call, but I think he said he did everything correctly. That alone was a fireable offense.
My theory is this: the Bears were already pissed off about his lack of accountability since the Redskins hail mary game, but Eberflus took a positive step and fired the OC. Players like the new OC, but the errors continue, and those errors are on Eberflus. They don't fire him last night because it's Thanksgiving, it's not classy. But they tell him this morning, you either take accountability and rebuild the trust of the players or you're fire. He does the Zoom call, refuses to do so, says he was right, and it's okay, you're fired, get out.
