So I found out that Caleb Williams has been sacked 70 times this year and I'm a little bit more forgiving. What the heck is going on with the Bears OL?

He holds on to the ball way too long. He's a part of the problem.

Teams blitz him and he doesn't ever throw to a hot receiver he just tries to hold the ball to buy more time. The best qbs throw the ball quick against the blitz.

The Bears OL is average. Sacks are largely a qb stat with the exception of blindside hits or the line collapsing immediately. Caleb holds the ball way too long and is slow at processing what he sees. Drake Maye is playing better with a truly awful ol and a worse supporting cast.

He's pretty good at handling broken plays, but he has a lot he needs to improve on. I think he'll be an average to slightly above average qb eventually. Anyone who watched him in his 2023 college season knew he was super overrated as a prospect.
