Just because you're smart, educated, talented and successful doesn't mean you're not batsh!t crazy.
"smart, educated, talented and successful". You don't need to be any of things to be a magistrate in PA.
PA does not require Magisterial Judges to have any qualifications like a background in law or be a member of the bar. (All the other courts in PA do). All you need to do is get voted in.
I once had an MDJ tell me that he knew what the law is but that's not the law in his court...
