This is, of course, assuming it's the OK hand gesture. If it's something less obscure, the answer is self explanatory
He was taking a selfie in the mirror. The hand that was at his side was doing the white power gesture. Hands do not naturally fall like that… so no.
EDIT: Hinge has actually emailed me to say they've taken action against him, so I'm not mistaken as you're inferring.

It's a minor thing but why do they namedrop the specific dating app they're using.
Like why "On Hinge..." why not "while online dating..."
If this were any other subreddit I would suspect it to be advertising, but then I remember that females and brand names are the most iconic of iconic duos.

It's just what r-slurs do with apps. Like they don't say they called a cab or ordered delivery, they took an Uber or ordered DoorDash.

It's because they can't conceive of the underlying mechanism. Their only knowledge is the app itself, so to them the app is the entire process.
Kind of like how zoomers call websites "apps" because they never go online, just use the companies' dedicated advertising feeds.
Its gonna be a serious problem in technology in a few years when people who don't even understand file structures or know what cmd is are the ones expected to maintain our increasingly tech-dependent world. When something goes wrong they're completely helpless.
