All dating apps treat men like shit, but I don't think it's the most probable outcome here compared to them being like: "There's no clear violation of the rules, so we'll just make him invisible to her and say something vague about how we 'took action'. After all, he might be a paying customer or might become one."

I don't know what it's like on Hinge, but apparently Tinder is pretty liberal with the ban hammer and will ban accounts over extremely small things so I wouldn't be surprised if this is true.

I still have zero idea why I was banned from tinder. Met someone. Deleted account. Dated for two and a half years. We broke up. It's a minor thing but why do they namedrop the specific dating app they're using.
Like why "On Hinge..." why not "while online dating..."

It's because they can't conceive of the underlying mechanism. Their only knowledge is the app itself, so to them the app is the entire process.
Kind of like how zoomers call websites "apps" because they never go online, just use the companies' dedicated advertising feeds.
Its gonna be a serious problem in technology in a few years when people who don't even understand file structures or know what cmd is are the ones expected to maintain our increasingly tech-dependent world. When something goes wrong they're completely helpless.
