you have most of the colors inverted.

you did the normal "highlights are brighter and on the exposed details". fire doesn't work like that - it's brighter when it's hotter, thus close to the source.

True but that seemed like a lot more work than just slapping one layer of contrast paint. I always thought it was funny how GWs painting guide got it wrong too

and yeah, it doesnt really matter, cause most people dont care attention to such an r-slured detail like flame-logic. "does it look cool?" "yeah". i at least tell myself that cause my latest fire elemental is also wrong ;)
