It’s official! #AGDQ2023 will be taking place online January 8th-15th!
— Games Done Quick (@GamesDoneQuick) September 7, 2022
While we would love to return in-person, we’ve determined that to provide a safe and welcoming event to all it was best that we move away from our originally planned location in Florida.
See thread below.

These guys are insane. Citing Covid as a primary reason for moving an event for young people in 2023? Their viewer counts dropped off a cliff for the online-only events.

Aren't they all fat though?

Yeh you'd think they'd sort out their own health before worrying about Covid.

GDQ is a parody of itself. Meanwhile ESA has been in person for a year, I think?

I can understand that they'd do some LGBT grandstanding, but why mention Covid at all, never mind first? They're fricking insane.
They could implement their own mask mandate and testing inside the venue, so who cares what the state law is? No state is going to be requiring masks in 2023.

Because they know that boycotting a state over a law that doesn't even do what they claim it does would probably do more harm than good to "the movement" if that was the primary reason. If it's mostly about Covid people are quite literally not allowed to criticize that.
Also, what does it say that they were willing to host in FL before this bill? This isn't the first controversial thing Ronny D's done; does that mean they were implicitly supporting the other stuff but trains was where the line got drawn?
