FF13 is imo the black sheep in the series, you may like it, but i wouldn't suggest starting with it.

I played 13 for the first time ever on a PC port a couple years ago. It has a special place in my heart because my bf at the time had a ps3 and I didn't, and we broke up right before I got to finish the final boss. I was more mad about that than the breakup. lol
This is what sold me when I played 10.
