[Weekly Gaming Thread 2] You will own no NFTs of video game microtransactions and you will be happy edition

alternative title: Sony asked ChatGPT about the most effective way to piss off g*mers

Direct link to patent: https://image-ppubs.uspto.gov/dirsearch-public/print/downloadPdf/20230041807

If that doesn't work https://ppubs.uspto.gov/pubwebapp/static/pages/ppubsbasic.html with patent number: 20230041807

It's basically a scheme to make microtransaction items 1. limited availability :marseyinvisible: and 2. rentals :marseycapitalistmanlet: and 3. NFTs because IDK that must make it novel enough to patent :marseyhacker:

I'm sure this won't make games even less fun for everyone but the biggest paypigs, but people will still totally play them :marseybrainlet:

Side notes, but patent art is always so janky looking and I love-hate it

While Bad Guy learned to dance, Boss A studied the blade :marseyweeb:

That is all for now, back to your pods or discuss video games or whatever. IDK if people even care about weekly threads, but Aevann wanted some and I took the initiative on a monday :marfield:.

The Xbox 1 announcing permanent online and discs tied to the consoles, and kinect being bundled with the console like a couple weeks before the console dropped was really good, I think it pretty much destroyed the consoles launch and probably turned off a lot of xbox 360 owners from considering buying the next gen.
