Starsector is very fun :marseyburrito:

I've been paying Starsector recently and have been really enjoying it. :marseyembrace:

It's a top down space sim that doesn't really have a campaign or structure to go through. It's all about making your own fun akin to the Mount and blade games. :marseyastronaut2:

I've been playing as a bounty hunter for now with a small fleet hunting down pirates and space luddite islamists :marseyplacenofun:

I only have a few frigates and carrier with some retrofitted civilian freighters and drone haulers. My own little merc company :marseyhibernian:

I don't know whether I'll create a colony eventually or not. It's kinda necessary if you want to do salvaging and hunt down any blueprints or rare ships but I might just settle for cleansing the galaxy of pirates :marseymagdump: :marseypirate2:

Anyway I want to finish a campaign before I dive into the huge modding scene this game has. I've been eyeing the fighter customisation mod where you create specialised fighter wings with your own officers and even pilot them yourself.

I always try to play as a space trucker just trying to courier stuff through the core worlds

Until I 'stumble' upon some nice cruisers or a pristine nanoforge when I go exploring.

I think you can steal nanoforges via raids if exploration is too neurodivergent for you

It can but I have the weirdest luck with nanoforges. If I am looking for them I never find them, if I'm just exploring for the shit of it I find them and then I feel obligated to start a colony and start ruining the local economy lmao.

The global economy is very disappointing with how easy it is to destroy. I usually tweak the cfg file to reduce trade profits and increase base colony upkeep. Pair this with mods that allow money-producing industries, and you can decide on whether you produce good for yourself at a loss or instead generate a modest amount of money (but much less than the you get in vanilla)

I def need a mod that makes the main factions a little stronger, all of them should be an economic powerhouse of some market.

:marseyblack: :You think you got bad luck? You should try bein' black in America, son. We got the worst luck of anyone in the world. If we're looking for a job, we never find one. If we're just tryin' to live our lives, we get killed by the police. And if we do manage to find a nanoforge, we have to start a colony just to survive. So don't you go talkin' 'bout no luck, white boy. You don't know nothin' 'bout luck.
