VIDYA SURVEY PARTICIPATION IS OBLIGATORY
I got some of rdrama's most notorious lurkers to finally open up and talk so why won't YOU participate?
Darn if only there was a way to message people on this site and find out what's going on behind the scenes wouldn't that be crazy?
Well, in case you haven't been messaged yet you're either not particularly active on this site, haven't spoken about anything interesting, or (and much more likely) I just don't like you.
Still, your opinion is valuable and I desperately need MORE data.

Maybe next week if things go as planned and I have gotten a decent sample size.
I asked Geto if it's okay to 'leak' those messages and they were completely d'accord. Your data is secure...

The best game on the NES is unironically Kirby's Adventure closely followed by Super Mario Bros. 3 and Mega Man 2.
All other opinions are wrong.

Normie picks even if they're likely right, you have to throw in something like a Boy and His Blob, Startropics, or Crystalis to show your refined tastes.

The NES and most of its games are too old to be still counted as normal regardless if you pick the more or less popular ones. The average g*mer under 30 has probably never played a single game before the PS1/N64 generation. Also, I've never heard of the games you mentioned there so I guess your taste is automatically better than mine.

You'd be surprised, the rise of emulators and the low specs of 8bit, 16bit, 32bit games which could easily by played on standard keyboard led to a decent amount of zoomers that have played them. I remember helping people in high school set up emulators to play Pokemon and random SNES games. Random games like Earthbound or Super Metroid will be brought into the zoomer zeitgeist because popular indie games are inspired by them. I even heard another zoomer talk about Evo rise of Eden. Other zoomers still are confused when I bring up the Dreamcast or Saturn though.

That's like literally the best thing Nintendo ever made and the sole reason for at least half of all RPGs we have nowadays.
I kinda get your argument but at the same time, I'm thinking you're severely overestimating the percentage of zoomies that even game on the 'puter and care about older games. I've recently overheard a couple of first-year students claim that Skyrim is a super old game.

That seems like a consequence of zoomers being an incredible fragmented generation, one group of zoomers with have intense interest in something and can now communicate with people all over the globe without needing to go through the traditional gatekeepers. Due to the world being globally connected even a small percentage of active internet users interested in something is larger than previous artistic movements achieved at their peaks. The numbers of participants in inflated beyond the ability to determine becuase they're more content covering every topic than can possibly be parsed.
I was talking about Earthbound because of the reaction to Undertale and later Omori. I still remember my times on http://starmen.net and watching chuggaconroy's let's plays fondly as a child. Honestly it's hard to call any of the Mother games my favorite becuase they've been assimilated into the expected enough that what made them revolutionary even to me as a child has become routine.
The fact that Earthbound, a game that flopped in the West and regained popularity without an official rerelease in the West completely changing the landscape of indie games is what I'm referring to when I say random, they was no push or reason beyond grassroots interest.

On the topic of Earthbound, have you ever read this, I'm interested in it but I don't know if it will filled with surface level Earthbound lore or be actually interesting
