In real life, victory looks like your side seizing the reins of governmental and organizational power and using it to slowly grind the vermin who stood in your way completely out of existence over the course of a generation. It's not clean and neat. There's rarely a tidy ending where your opponents say "Whoops, we fricked up! Sorry, you were completely right!"
