Some time ago the company released a video where some CFO dude recited how committed the studio is to inclusivity or whatnot, while looking like he is staring down a loaded gun. This is unsurprising.

They are a corporate entity and will follow corporate trends.

Idk where this whole cult following around CDPR even came from. Let's be real, they made one (1) good game and somehow convinced G*mers they're Ze Gaming Future who praised them like gods for years until they fumbled

The made one good game 3 times. :marseyindignant:

They had good pro g*mer PR, no microtransaction when they were the hot topic discussed, fully owned games with GOG. Etc.

It was more convincing to g*mers than if CDPR made more good games other than Witcher (x3).

Witcher 2 was ok but playing Witcher 1 made me suicidal

I like 1&2 equally, and 3 actually a little bit less even if Velen is the best area in all 3 games.

2 has probably the worst gameplay (yes, that's my unironic opion, I preffer Guitar Hero combat from the first one), but the best story overall.

1 has the best atmosphere (overall).

I've bailed on all their games I've tried to play within 3 hours. And I even played Starfield 40 hours.

Are they publicly traded or privately owned? If it's the latter, then it's their owners directly choosing to be more progressive becuase they (most likely) believe that'll maximize their profits. It's shifting to a different target market (while hoping their former g*mers keep buying their shit--which they will :marseyfallout:).

"Corporate entity following corporate trends" is pretty empty. :marseyindignant:

50/50 on if they're griftmaxing or will actually implement any of it. My company for example is definitely the former. Other than middle management stressing how important diversity is in every other meeting and them scheduling a DEI presentation over MS Teams with some BIPOC actor during the lunch hour (which no one attends), it's been business as usual.
