Most of the veterans are gone, there are only old geezers left in the top positions, they had to dump their engine because there is no one left who knows how to operate it, so they are switching to Unreal.

The whole strategy now is to please investors (which includes all this ESG/DEI stuff). It all sounds like CDPR is over.

Only there is one problem with that statement - they have always been like that. From the very beginning. Each game they made was made in dev heck, with each game they lied and made up complete nonsense in interviews. They created themselves as a studio "for g*mers" that doesn't do bad practices, exploitative DLC or DRM, and yet during the release of The Witcher 2 they sent threatening letters to people who pirated the game.

The Witcher 3 had a huge drama related to the downgrade where the Reds lied looking straight into the camera, but they got away with it because the game turned out pretty good after all.

Not to mention the shit working conditions in the studio. Probably this is the worst company when it comes to gamedev in Poland. No one who has even a little experience or knowledge in the industry wants to work there. The smartest ones simply fled immediately after the release of The Witcher 3, because having this game on your resume back then opened a lot of gateways to better jobs.
