There will be an additional gameplay demo in a couple hours or so.

>Districts are back

>Golden/Dark age effects sound like they're back

>Navigable rivers

>Can play any civ with any leader for the first time since IV

Cautiously optimistic. I still could never get into VI. Maybe I'm too used to IV and V.

Edit: showcase has started.

Unlike the boomers in the comments I'm stoked on this. Day 1 purchase for sure. I liked 5 and loved 6. Biggest complaint is opponent AI

I'm still hesitant about day 1 purchases in civ games since I've been bitten by them before. Civ V at launch was fricking awful for example, it wasn't until at least one full expansion in that it got playable.

I'll definitely pirate it day 1 to try it out tho. I really do think Civ 6 > Civ 5 > Civ 4, even if I enjoyed all of them.

Actual smart AI would be a game changer on par with an entirely new game. They could just sell a "non-r-slurred AI" DLC for $30 and they'd make bank

I'm pretty sure I stopped playing V for good once I found out about the big TCMs for IV. Realism Invictus is kino.

They seem to have borrowed Humanitiy (paradox game)'s dumbest idea. Changing civ ruins the LARP. The LARP is why you can sell Scotland and Australia DLC for $10 plus tip. Its a huge part of the appeal.

Its better for gameplay im sure, but worse for appeal

If their concern is that a single Civ is only relevant for whatever eras its unique building/unit is in they could just... add more of those per Civ?

Sounds like the leader will be consistent through the game.

Did you like playing the fantasy or sci-fi variations of the game in ToT?

I used to love the sci-fi one, with all the different planets.

IIRC there was also an "extended" mode in normal games where the tech tree kept going for a bit and you could actually colonize Alpha Centari after your ship got there.

Tbh, I always play the original mode, but your comment got me thinking about trying the other modes. :marseythonk:

1UPT means no buy because the AI is fricking r-slurred.

The 4 bullet points you've added thus far are W's. Districts and golden/dark ages are kino af and navigable rivers have been long overdo.

I think I misunderstood what I heard about ages tbh. The ages they talked about were points in a game where you evolve into a new Civ. They could still have the Gold Age/Dark Age system though since they're keeping districts.

Looks good in the literal sense.

I wonder how it will pan out, but I don't plan on playing it. I played plenty of Civ 6, but got bored and never went back.

Civ 4 is still my favourite, and this one is very much going into the footsteps of 6, except looks less like a mobile game.

Still won't be anywhere near the pinnacle of the genre which was Alpha Centauri.

That makes me :marseydepressed:

I've been with a few women in my life and one thing I've noticed is that the female anus is incredibly close to the vagina, in fact they're barely an inch apart.

I'm not sure about other guys - but doesn't this disturb you? It feels like a design flaw in women actually -- like they're supposed to be so feminine and beautiful yet this ghastly little oversight is ruining everything.

Somehow it feels to me that women should be more aware of this flaw and it should affect their confidence. Whenever I see a so-called beautiful woman walking down the street so care-free thinking she's all that I just remember her anus is only 1 inch away from her kitty and laugh her into oblivion.
