Makes 0 sense, the gamedevs were already doing politics. There's no way to appeal to them apart from choosing what to buy, which is what normie consumers did.

Neighbor everyone knew the truth about Zoe weeks into the whole thing. GiggityGoof was never about a shitty indie games developer fricking some journos for praise. If it hadn't been Zoe it would have been something else. The lines were already drawn at that point, knowing the truth about games journos wouldn't make a difference if you were a gamedev since their jobs depended on their industry connections.
