:marseyboomer: complains that it's annoyingly difficult to buy a Sony game on PC for his child compared to just giving someone a disc with the game on it. ReeeeeeeeeERA posters take great offense to this

I'm finishing the reddit>resetERA>Kiwi Farms>rDrama pipeline

The OP

Starts with the Monster Sipping :boomermonster:

Quotes a reddit post that he found relatable- the heart of the complaint was it being annoying having to go through so many log-ins and child account bullshit which sometimes also randomly threw off errors just so his kid could get a Lego game installed

https://i.rdrama.net/images/1735338461YZxj1VHVvdPi1g.webp

His original commentary- perhaps it should be less annoying to buy a game for your kid

Seems reasonable right? No Child! Banned for 2 months for complaining about video game purchases on a video game forum :marseyjan#ny2:

Of course we got some great contributions from the epic game players.

this is true

NOOO JUST DON'T HAVE AN ICKY CHILD. This isn't a problem for me, specifically :smugjak:

But it still is if you have a child

Ummm akshually why aren't you buying this Soyney game for your PS5???? Sony probably gets less money when you buy it for PC, so you should have no reason to buy it there

Why don't you remember all your passwords for shit like Sony accounts that you literally type in once and never again??? Are you stupid? (I guarantee you this guy uses the same password for literally everything)

User is confused as OP is just griping and reminiscing about the good old days instead of trying to stir up hate

Adding unnecessary bullshit steps to everything is a good thing actually! It's you who are impatient for wanting to simply install a program and be done with it! And yes it can be annoying, but why would you want it to be less so?

Does anyone know if any economists are arguing that the kafkaesque EULA meta we have right now is actually good for the economy? Are there any positives to it?

I.e. will companies have to hire much more compliance staff if we don't sign away our rights?

It's good to keep them around if only for them to tell commies that they're r-slurred with some semblance of objectivity

I use "commie" as a standin for regulation-enjoyer (I am thoroughly colonized, working on it). In Europe we have very strong factions of voters who want to solve everything via state intervention and I am inclined to believe economists when they say that this is at least partially what lead to us becoming so poor compared to US

It's probably the fault of the EU

It was the US that allowed EULAs to force users to resolve disputes through arbitration.

The EU is based about it actually. If your Eula contains non standard shit in the EU it's just straight up invalid, the EU doesn't actually expect people to read Eulas. :marseyretardchad:

Iirc it's because you have already purchased it before they spring it on you. It's changing the contract after it is signed. They would have to make you read the eula before you buy the game if they want to include non-standard conditions.

Imagine buying groceries, and when you get home and open them they tell you that you're only allowed to use these ingredients for vegan dishes.

The EULA states that you are not allowed to discuss these issues.

Have you not read your EULA?
