EA says the new Dragon Age reached around 1.5 million players, missing expectations by nearly 50%

They also don't differentiate between people buying it, people playing it on their subscription service, or people playing the free trial lol.

Yup, I have played all the Dragon Age games multiple times, even enjoyed inquisition for what it was, and have absolutely zero desire to ever touch this game.

Edit: getting DM's calling me homophobic (very much not so), a Nazi (def not and no idea where this even comes in), and getting death threats over a video game is crazy lmao

Assuming a copy is 60$, 1.5 millions players means they recovered about 90 millions USD.

I can't even tell if this is good or bad.

They didn't say 1.5mil sales but 1.5mil interactions, this would include EAplay and the trial and beta testers and all the other jazz like ppl who got free copies.

As for whether it's good or bad, dev budget was 200mil and most copy sold from now on will be deeply discounted, they're not even going to remotely break even and EA wasn't unreasonable looking to profit after development heck they'd see breaking even as the success.
