Microsoft wants to leave the hardware (console) market and only focus on their actual games. This seems reasonable as the past couple of Xbox generations have been terrible. Basically - they took the L and moved on.

I actually kinda like the Series X--maybe not from a games perspective (I guess getting everything you could ever want through Games Pass is cool) but the hardware is neat.
