The major emulators got "shut down" recently but you can still find them and use them, and I'm sure by now there's forks out there continuing development. Nintendo may be a legal behemoth with far more lawyers than developers, basically the vidya version of Oracle, but you really can't stop people from pirating your shit.
They also have the benefit that the Switch consoles, like all Nintendo stuff, has really shit-tier hardware, so it's easy to emulate on any modern system.
