Well, if Switch 2 has any hope of competing with Steam Deck to be a catalog system (i.e. a system people buy as a portable/handheld way to play a lot of older games they have already played), older games will have to be cheaper. On Steam Deck basically everyone who has done any PC gaming in the last 18 years already has a built in library (and frequent opportunities to get games for cheap), so it will be hard to compete with that if older games launch at $60-90 on Switch 2.

Personal opinion: when I played Mario kart 8 deluxe for the first time and only time, the game felt so bareboned. So I absolutely don't care about that game

After seeing the performance and quality of the games being inferior on switch 2 I'm curious to see the sales when released for switch 2 because those games are available now at discounted prices on pc handhelds and consoles with versions of those games far superior to what was shown on switch 2. Im wondering if millions of g*mers will buy inferior versions of older games for switch 2 when they have better avenues of experiencing multiplatform games in way better quality

While I'm not planning on buying it at all, the total freakout at some of the games being more expensive is a bit strange to me, considering that games have been getting more and more expensive the past few years, both AAA and indie.
$60 AAA wasn't really going to last forever. They don't even come complete anymore, coming with day one DLC and MTX that jumps the price up to $100.
And heck, the average indie game is $25-$30 now, Psycho Patrol R was released into extremely early access at $40.

That's another thing. It's a pretty reasonable price when the fricking PS5 Pro is like $700, and even more when you buy the peripherals that don't even come with it.
The freakout at the pro controller's price? Much more reasonable, although the XSX and PS5 controllers are both similarly priced. However, the XSX Elite controller is well over $100, and I've no doubt the PS6 controller will have an atrocious price as well.
