More details have come out about the palworld-nintendo lawsuit, such as which if the many arbitrary patents they "violated" and the total sum
The sum is for some $32k per violated patent , so a total of a near $100k including any fees and an injunction against further sales of the game.
The patents are r-slurred, vague and in some ways already done by games that existed before any filings.
https://patents.google.com/patent/JP7545191B1/en
One involves "aiming" objects in real time in a virtual space during combat and firing it, or generally firing an object in virtual space.
https://patents.google.com/patent/JP7493117B2/en?oq=7493117
The second is just a 20 page Japanese document
https://patents.google.com/patent/JP7528390B2/en
The third seems to simply be RIDING CREATURES IN A VIRTUAL SPACE!
All of these patents were applied for in early 2024 and finally registered in late August, and all applied for AFTER PALWORLDS RELEASE

I always wanted to play the OG silent hill games but the fighting mechanics always turned me off. The remake solved that issue. The shooting and melee felt more like the RE remakes.
Walking into the foggy town gives you an eerie feeling. When enemies are nearby your PS5 controller starts playing white noise, which when you are in a tight dark hallway can make you anxious.
I found myself being a little scared sometimes, kinda like being followed by Mr. X on my first playthrough of RE2 Remake.
The puzzles are entertaining and not too difficult.
The game has a sad story where you can kind of relate to the main character.
Overall, I would say I enjoyed this game more than Astro Bot and FF7 Rebirth. I don't expect it to get a GOTY nominations but this is my GOTY.
I give it 5 BOOMS!
If you have a PS5 or game on the PC I recommend you pick it up

Finally got my hands on my Veilguard copy. So I've decided to ride my neurodivergent fixation on closure with you all. Let's go.
Character creation
First things first, is the lore broken? Can dwarves be mages?
No
That good, however all qunari must have horns.
This causes a discrepancy issue when it comes to the inquisitor's appearance as they had the option of being a hornless qunari
I guess in the 10 years betweenthis gane and the last all qunari just suddenly sprouted horns
Foreshadowing that this game was made by the Anthem team, but more on that later. But do to this I won't/Can't recreate my canon inquisitor, so porting in my all human worldstate inquisitor
Here's my rook:
They're based on a certain dramatard.
Here's my inquisitor:
Oh, and these frickers call difficulties playstyles now
Play
Game opens up with a bar scene like the trailer. I want to be regal and upper class so I talk my way out of a fight, and then proceed to meet up with fantasy Garrus.
Most levels so far have been pretty linear (like Mass Effect). Talking hallway, fighting hallway, talking hallway, cutscene, boss arena, repeat. You really start to see the bones of Anthem in the gameplay, like how healing isn't a strategic thing to consider anymore but just a pick-up
Gameplay isn't bad in a vacuum, honestly Anthem probably would of been better if it was more like this, but as an RPG it's pretty lean and very simple. The melinnial writing is just shit though.
After many hallways we final confront the egg himself
This segment is pretty much a prolonged cutscene that serves as a cutting instrument for all the previous games. Solas' ritual is stopped, fantasy Garrus is stabbed, and mystery neighbors steal the plot, also Solas ends up in your head, somehow, it just kinda happens. You and your party are then taken to Solas' hideout in the fade. Harding, the dwarf is taken aback by it all, as dwarves don't dream, thus don't enter the fade when they sleep, thus should be freaked the frick out by dreams and being in the fade props for being the first game to actually give a dwarf a proper reaction to that shit.
Next, we head to the forest to recruit the worst party member. This segment is very not safe for chud
Honestly kinda a slog through more of the same, maps are a tad bigger though. With abilities and companions starting to open up more I've come to realize that your party members are just glorified abilities, they're more or less useless (like in Mass Effect), they also don't have health bars, so in the rare event an enemy focuses on them they'll just play piΓ±ata until you kill the enemy. Abilities are flashy, but honestly button mashing works just as well 80% of the time, even on the hardest difficulty. Boss of the zone is the stupid ogre.
I just stun locked him to death.
I knew I'd hate the quirky asian elf the moment she did that goofy portal jump in the reveal trailer, so this is where my daily tolerance falters.

For those unaware @TriHard runs marseycraft, info here https://rdrama.net/h/vidya/post/312821/some-updates-on-the-minecraft-server
Bussytown can suck it.
Also while i'm at it, heres a view of the chudlands of chudstone, the other population centre of the server, it consists of two islands in a large bay that forms the southern peninsula of the servers main "continent".

The more liberal and normie fans have Mortisimal's back against the evil chuds review r*pe bombing his channel with dislikes and vitriol, as well as peeps who will always stand up for their favorite celebrities or internet personas
The consensus in the comments is heavily divided, and last week when the review came out, it was controversial, but mostly positive in the majority - as the days passed however and more footage of ingame conversations or screenshots made the rounds round the internet,
the vitriol intensified and non-echochamber sections of the web, like 9gag, facebook and EVEN the /r/dragonage sub had the mind that the game was far beneath adequate and not the 9/10 - 10/10 faboulus exceptional game praised by soycuck journous (remember the only thing worse than a journ*list is a gaymer journ*list )
7 days ago, the absolute extreme difference between Mortisimal and another prominent and highly regarded independant Youtuber,, named SkillUp basically thrashed the game into oblivion, his was negative even more than i would have believed was warented or apropriate,
and his now infamous quote "HR being in the writing room/scene" has been been immortalized in many many forums/subs and 9strag threads. I sincerely believe that this phrase is unironically probbably on of the most influential quotes from a review to have affected a media product in a while
His negative review is received much more positively and apppreciatively, because he backs up his claims and reasoning for disliking things in the game like tone and dialogue, with turbo cringe scenes ingame footage.
Many chuds champion this review as it fufills their anti-woke agenda, however many many more apolitical normies have also been attracted, and Dragon Age is in gaming almost as large as Star Wars in terms of fame as a franchise, as well as cultural impact,
so the twatter, tumbler woke, soy shitlibs, reddiors cannot contain the truth against such a large swath of normal people realizing the objective reality that DA4 is a subpar project compared to its much better predecessors
Back to Mortisimal review thread -
the backlash against Mortisimal was especially large compared to all the other uber positive reviews, I believe because he had claimed DA4 to be the best in the entire series -which made many peeps accuse him of being a hack or bribed by EA
Many peeps in the last week alone have popularized the terminology of "Access Media", where Publishers have made a cancerous and parasitic relationship between reviewers and large corporations/developers, where early access or the review time window is given to only "loyal" reviewers or journ*lists whom are known to the publishers to be soft or generous to their slop games
Additionally the rat race for many journ*lists is that they rely on their articles or reviews to be as out as quickly as possible on game release, as that time window generates the majority of a website or youtuber's ad money - thus the fear of not getting early access copies of games, keeps journ*lists and utubers being honestly negative

They gave Concord a 7 but Mario and Luigi six a 5. Darn bros we lost. Apparently the reasons are insanely bad child like nonstop tutorials, bad pacing, choppy framerates and bad jokes. It's also 34h long making it by far the longest game.
