The government just demanded a billion dollars from a man for speaking. That is the end of the first amendment. The founding fathers literally intended for it to be illegal to make defamatory comments about people even if they were true. Thomas Jefferson had dudes arrested for making factual statements about him. They would have tossed Jones in prison decades ago.
