Firstly, if you haven't seen it yet: check out this awesome bussy blast from the SRD New Mods thread: https://old.reddit.com/r/SubredditDrama/comments/psolrx/-/hdsq4hq

Everybody say hi to u/Impassionata! He's basically the @pizzashill of SRD, if Pizza's prose was jam-packed with meaningless platitudes and sophomoric "gotchas". The midwit David Foster Wallace of SRD r-sluration, he is a Snappy quote-making machine. Feel free to call him an idiot in exchange for two pages worth of hilariously deranged wordswordswords

Why should I be surprised that I say this, and someone who lacks the capacity for serious introspection comes along? There's a clue here because he misquoted the concept: But I didn't say these people weren't self aware. I said that they couldn't seriously introspect. That's an important difference, and UpmarseyIfYouDare is quite possibly completely unaware of the power of serious introspection. When everything you've ever done online is posture about who is a loser and who isn't, mock other people for having serious opinions or feelings, and lean real hard into the idea that cool is not giving a shit, and the harder you don't give a shit the cooler you'll be, all becomes theatrics. Not being self aware is uncool, it's the least cool thing there is. But the part that's going to hurt is understanding that what you say you think 'everyone' believes can say more about you than about what everyone, in fact, believes. Sometimes the only people who feel ashamed for someone who is suffering some minor embarrassment are those who create the shame. As you get older the more clear it is that everyone has bad days. And you stop laughing at the people having bad days, or feeling embarrassed for them, because it's not your job to shame them. So that's why the sleight-of-hand, the misquote of UpmarseyIfYouDare, is so telling. Because it gives away the game. I'm not 'aware' that I'm a Reddit scold. Heck I hardly think of myself as a Reddit Scold but I am what you say I am just a little, don'tcha know??--so what do I know. I don't care that you think I'm a RedditScold UpmarseyIfYouDare. I care if you have forgotten how to have a serious conversation because you have gotten Way Too Online. Knowing this much about the 'plot' of SRD is Too Online. Heck I've been rolling through some of the drama recently ('toot toot' goes the horn) but for a hobby the spectating on the human stories hasn't gotten old yet. Maybe someday it will. Certainly the people asking me to take shit seriously--as in, presenting me with shit and being surprised my reaction is the expression of my boredom--is getting old. Mostly because of the naked stupidity on display. Being stupid on purpose is still being stupid. And SubredditDrama is where you could see where people were having stupid arguments, but the reasons for those people making those stupid arguments and their fricking internet tiffs were interesting! This is the value, the insight of the place. You have to take the drama seriously; the people in it sure do. I have spent maybe 4% of my time on Reddit on SRD, I go in and out. I'm not really clear on what you're on about, if I'm honest: you're on team RDrama which you feel is a fun shithole and SRD isn't any fun? Well dude that's like your opinion and stuff but I don't know why you're telling it to me, except that I assume something in you got annoyed at what I said. Which makes this cope. Which makes you self unaware, and therefore, not cool. Capisce? There's just this wave of losers. If you ask me here's how it happened: Trump came along and energized a bunch of people and it was their first experience with politics. "Change we can believe in" was his slogan I believe. The whole premise of Trump was that winning is obviously good. In fact, it was the chief good, and it was the only good. And so we have a generation of politically disappointed youth running around committing as hard as they can to nihilistic acts. Meaning doesn't exist. You can't be serious. It's all shit. They're depressed because their strong man was a wimpy boomer. This is akin to the post-OWS era of politics. And they run around getting into trouble as nihilist postmodernists--sorry, liars--do: if they get caught, they lie about what they are transparently doing. They say "I'm not the loser, you are!" And this is the entirety of their repertoire as writers! That's the card you played UpmarseyIfYouDare: "I'm not the loser, you're the loser!" Takes one to know one, pal! We're all losers... under capitalismmmmm! The only real losers are the sore winners. Of the effects of Trump's presidency which I despair over still, the egregiousness of the sore winning stands pretty high. A generation of sore winners, who act twice as bad when they lose, now just spewing their attempted narrative spinning all over the place. Y'all ain't losers because you lost. Y'all are losers because you deserve to lose and won't let that get through your head. If people don't want a behavior in their community it is in their right to ask for that behavior to cease. Mods don't give the community what it wants, they will leave. To where? Dunno. Doesn't matter. Because I'm just here for the story of Reddit. I don't give a shit about what happens to SRD. The people still tuned to the story of Reddit are only found on the old subreddits. One of which is SRD. UpmarseyIfYouDare, since you ask a sincere question, you have received a sincere answer: you should be reflecting on what it is that makes you defend obnoxious behavior. You should be reflecting on how it is your first impulse is to attack along lines of self-awareness. You should reflect on the right to banish and remember that it's been around forever. In the old days it meant they told you to walk and if they saw you again they'd kill you. Kinder, I think, to simply ask people to leave and enforce it via subreddit bans.

SWEET JESUS WHAT DID YOU DO TO THAT MAN

(edit) lmao I got whoa-neighbor'd

You are belittling the same thing you are doing: it is clear and evident self-hatred. You are abusing yourself. You are angry at yourself for being here on this website, and you are taking it out on other people.

Hahah God bless this r-slur.
