Chicago Deep Dish Pizza Is the Best Pizza

Why is rdrama so buttblasted about deep dish pizza? :marseyquestion:

It’s delicious! :marseypizzaslice:

I think it's decent but you gotta load it up with toppings properly or it's just a mess of crust, sauce, and cheese.

The sausage I've had on them is a whole new level. It's like one big sausage patty covering the whole thing. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's too much.

Pizza should be deep enough and wet enough to swim in.

:marseyno: Tourist "pizza"

:marseyyes: Thin crust with sausage

Growing up, I thought Chicago-style pizza was thin crust with chunks of raw sausage cooked right into it because that's the most popular thing the locally-owned places have always served.

Italian is better, either Neapolitan, Modern or Thin crusted roman pizza. Pizza squares are also better

I've never understood why people care so much about this, as long as you're not eating Altoona or Pittsburgh pizza, you're good.

Step 1: Pour chunky tomato soup into an empty pie crust. Fill to brim

Step 2: Sprinkle some cheese on top

Step 3: Put it into the oven for a little while

Step 4: Take it out of the oven and pretend that it's "pizza." Sell it to gullible tourists

Step 5: PROFIT!

Never had it, but it's obvious why it gets so much hate; even if it tastes delicious (I'm sure it's great), the eating experience is the complete opposite of what you expect when you think "pizza" :nerd:

A NY slice, you eat it with your hands casually, with some customization options in the form of pepper flakes or parm

Same goes for more or less any pizza style, point is that you make slices and eat with your hands :marseyraisinghands:

Again, never had Chicago style, but that shit looks like fork and knife are mandatory :marseyyikes:

I guess the logic is that if I'm gonna have a "sit down" meal with a fork and knife, then I'll get something good that I can't just theoretically get in an incredible eat-with-your-hands experience :marseypizzaslice:

It feels almost like arguing lasagna vs. pizza, the use-case and context for it is completely different :soyjakanimeglasses:

The other style in Chicago is tavern which is the little squares, which is my fav way to eat pizza

Deep Dish is great when you have friends over and order a pizza or go to a restaurant

NY wagies have to eat pizza with their hands while they walk home from their jobs because they can’t own cars and their city is too crowded

Chi wagies can at least sit down to eat which is why the other Chicago-style pizza (tavern) exists.

I order NY style pizza with extra sauce, so I agree. Frick Jon Stewart; there's no such thing as too much marinara sauce.

Also frick Jon Stewart for unleashing John Oliver upon the world. (or was that Stephen Colbert? Anyway, frick him too...)
