Today I found out that when someone applies for a security clearance and requests a hearing after an initial denial a document gets posted online with juicy deets

https://doha.ogc.osd.mil/Industrial-Security-Program/Industrial-Security-Clearance-Decisions/ISCR-Hearing-Decisions/2024-ISCR-Hearing/

Working on IT stuff in various overseas locations. Soliciting a prostitute, marrying a foreign stripper, some debt, and being evasive about this stuff:

This guy watched a buddy in the airforce overdose on "cocaine" and lied about it. Guy was previously discharged from the airforce for hard drugs:

This 23 year old was working as an IT manager but seems to have been moonlighting. He had a criminal record in his youth and was busted with marijuana and illegal firearms:

https://doha.ogc.osd.mil/Industrial-Security-Program/Industrial-Security-Clearance-Decisions/ISCR-Hearing-Decisions/2024-ISCR-Hearing/FileId/213243/

Married manager is an alcoholic. An interesting vignette but nothing unheard of. Beverage consumption quantities in document seem unreasonably low. Goes to AA and gets clearance:

I'll give credit to the reddit post I found this site from. Apparently one of Kim Jong Un's relatives who has fled to the US is working in defense:

"[M]y use of recreational drugs on my personal time in no way reflects upon my trustworthiness as a keeper of national secrets. I do not plan to change my lifestyle because that would be absurd, and directly contradictory to the first sentence of this statement. There are many more of these and a decent fraction are worth the read. Most common thing in these is debt. Sometimes it's sympathetic but sometimes its hardcore trailer park vibes.

This is a goldmine. If you guys upvote some jannies bickering or shitty drawings over this I will lose any respect I had for this site.

Under Guideline M, the SOR alleged that Applicant engaged in illegal downloading of movies from 1993-2008; music from 2008-2011; and computer software, games, and emulators

During the conversation, Applicant said that security would not be stringent enough to protect the president because there were multiple ways to make homemade bombs that could be used against him. He then retrieved his personal laptop to show the other interns a manual about how to make explosives.

Applicant had “a strong indication of Asperger's syndrome, a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction and nonverbal communication.

In July 2017, Applicant was unable to sleep for five consecutive days. He had a delusion that his cat could talk to him. He asked God what he should do,and “the thought occurred to [him] - - for some reason, to shoot up a mall.”

DENIED

:marseyaware:

On or about July 26, 2018, police were called to Applicant's home after a neighbor had reported seeing a fully naked male standing in the front yard of the home actively masturbating while holding a cell phone.

DENIED

:marseycoomer2:

Applicant was diagnosed with a fetishistic disorder; engaged in sexual behavior of a compulsive nature related to diapers; sought imagery related to diapers for arousal and masturbation purposes; inadvertently viewed child pornography multiple times; has stolen diapers; feels significant shame and anxiety associated with his sexual predilections; and does not want his sexual behavior to be discovered by others.

To stop inadvertently accessing child pornography, he began viewing drawings of children and adults wearing diapers while dressed in animal costumes (the “furry community”). The drawings and he “furry community” provide him with gratification.

Applicant stated that he placed the QAnon sticker on his vehicle “to raise awareness. It's not an ideology nor does it promote violence or any type of derogatory actions. [T]here is no ill har[m] at all. It is suspected of being very close to [the] Trump administration.”

APPROVED

:chudsmug:

Applicant submitted a copy of a magazine article about pornography. Part of the article addressed the prevalence of “Lolita Porn” on the Internet. According to the article: “This is not actual child pornography, a genre still blessedly beyond the reach of the casual Web browser. . . . Lolita Porn features girls who are 18 or older but look like 14-year-olds.”

applicant admitted that while working for two different employers (one was a successor contractor to the other) from 2000 to 2007 she took, without permission or authorization, numerous computer items, including multiple computer towers, monitors, keyboards, mouse sets, speakers, and memory sticks. Applicant further related, during her March 2012 interview, that she engaged in illegally downloading of music, movies, software, games, and emulators from approximately 1993 to 2011. She estimated that she downloaded over 10,000 songs valued at over $10,000 and over hundreds of movies valued at over $5,000. She engaged in this activity using her personal computer equipment and other times using her employer's computers and peripherals. She also illegally downloaded software, game programs, and emulators valued at between $400 and $1,000. Between 2002 and 2007, she also downloaded music and movies from a government server without authorization. In her hearing testimony, Applicant claimed that the permissive culture at the government agency allowed the downloading from the government server for personal use.

Some years ago, I worked in IT. One day, we got a letter from a major media corp - someone got busted pirating shit on our network and if we didn't get them to stop the employer would be held liable. No prob, we ID'd the user and got their manager to chew them out. In order to avoid future problems, we in the IT department got directed to actively scan all our users' document folders and delete any audio or video files that weren't clearly work-related. We did so ... after modifying the script to first copy all said files to a special IT-only server so we could pick out the good shit for ourselves.

I built up quite the music collection from that. Have it all to this day still.

Reading her case I can tell you right now as a clearance holder that torrenting ALONE will not impact you getting a clearance. Reading further into the application, who is 49 years old. She has never married and has one child, she literally steals shit from anyone and everyone she either works with or works for.

You can torrent pirated shit before as long as you admit it and come clean and tell them you've stopped because you're a gainfully employed citizen and no longer have to resort to that.

It's the other clearly high risk behaviors this single mom does that absolutely impacted her from getting her Top Secret. (Secret does not require a poly).

edit: going to add some more fun ones as I find them. warning: a diaperfur was approved

Yes and its unfortunate because their logic is that if its not some terrible secret that if someone found it and will use it to compromise you, it's not a problem.

yeah its fuggin gross and honestly it makes me :marseyhmm: if the governments attempts to also join in "the message" of pride in degeneracy is so that none of their cleared employees have any shame they would compromise secrets.

Almost makes sense because they know their employees are all secret degenerates anyway.

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

So... one of the problems that comes up during security clearance investigations, particularly when you require a CI or Lifestyle polygraph, isn't whether or not you have participated in certain activities. It's whether you're open about it.

Like they don't care if you're an ABDL fetishist - they care if you're explicitly hiding it from the government or loved ones because that could make you vulnerable to blackmail.

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

And the only reason they care about that is because it may affect your ability to do your job under stressful situations or that your stress is different from that of other people's.

They already knew everyone is a degenerate they just don't want degenerates in their club.

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

Working under stressful situations isn't a security concern. They care about whether you can be blackmailed, extorted, bribed, or have a history of recklessness.

Not just the glowies, this type of problem is crippling the entire defense apparatus. Official policy is they won't let you join the military at all if you've ever been diagnosed with a long list of mental illnesses or done drugs harder than weed at any point in your lifetime (though they're so desperate right now that this policy is being quietly ignored).

Now that all of this medical and other lifestyle info is tracked digitally and can be checked by recruiters (they can see your digital medical records), they're finding out wayyyyyyy more than they ever wanted to know about all of the applicants and like 1/3 of all burgers are disqualified going by the official policy on paper. You used to be able to lie by omission about this kind of stuff and as long as you kept your nose clean while you were serving you'd be fine.

At the time Applicant submitted his SCA, he had served on active duty in the Marine Corps for almost four years. He was a college graduate. He went through the security-clearance process in 2012 and 2020, and he knew that marijuana use violated federal law and was an impediment to obtaining a security clearance. His experience with the marijuana edibles was unpleasant, resulting in a panic attack of sufficient severity to cause him to stop using them. I conclude that the allegation in SOR ¶ 1.a is established, and the evidence is sufficient to establish the disqualifying condition in AG ¶ 16(a).

Actually I'm not sure if mental illness is too much of a disqualifier if you take your meds and haven't had an episode in years.
