The comic in question makes the same uninspired complaints you've all heard before: long wait times, not enough doctors, not actually free. Spicier then her usual "look at me I'm a quirky girl" comics, but still long and unfunny.
The reactions, however, are hilarious.
"FREEEEEEEEEEEEE"

(this Marsey is so useful)
My favorite comments are the ones accusing her of being American.
She's Canadian, not American
I know, I read her responses, my meme still aplies tho
All in all, quite a bit of seetheposting from poor amerifats that can't afford insurance. Probably her best comic ever. !pinknames

Pizzacake comics are the fricking best.
You know how people spend ages practicing meditation just to experience a clear mind for literally a few milliseconds at a time?
I feel like i get that whenever I read her comics. They're so banal, dull and insipid that for as long as it takes to read them, and for a couple of seconds afterward, I experience completely and absolutely nothing.

Why do Americans think you need insurance? They still treat you. Give them a fake name and leave. If you show up unconscious and they get your name from your wallet, just straight up don't pay. Did you consent to all that shit they did? Heck no. American healthcare is the most free in the world.

Friendly reminder that universal healthcare in Glasgow resulted in a senior citizen laying on the floor for 40 hours waiting for the ambulorry.
He died before they arrived.
The average wait time for an ambulance in America is less than 10 minutes.
Neighbor it's the same thing. Funding determines quality. If your current free* healthcare results in low quality, you either need to pay more taxes or pay directly for higher quality.

Leftoids like to pretend free healthcare = the healthcare you get in the US but you don't have to pay
In every country that has it though, to get actual service you still need to pay. There's just this additional joke healthcare system you can go to if you want to wait six months to see an unqualified "nurse" who did a two hour online course, who will tell you she doesn't know what's wrong

There's one comment thread under that post where she defends herself by saying that she will complain all she wants because her sons 6 year old friend died in medical care. Redditors clap back at her saying that it's actually financing issues and that it's the parents fault etc.
I actually feel a bit bad for her, the way everyone dogpiled on her for being angry at the medical systems incompetence leading to loss of life, just spouting political propoganda at her without even wanting to hear her reasons

feds handle about 25% of healthcare costs, provinces do the rest
the big thing is demand has massively spiked in Canada w/ people getting old and massive boost in immigration, but gov has mostly just kept the growth rate in spending the same as previous years not significantly spiked it to match demand.
even though I'm libertarian leaning I'm an unironic supporter of public healthcare, but matching demand<> supply is always a massive problem and costs shift to everyone not just the biggest consumers (old dying boomers)

The only people on Earth who think Canada's healthcare system has ever been good (or, horrifyingly, still is) have either never been debased by having to use it, or are Canadian state propagandists like CBC and TVO (directly-owned and funded by the Antichrist), or CTV, Global, etc which are majority funded by the government and therefore lockstep-footsoldiers of their dark masters in Ottawa.

One time I had an enlarged lymph node and got to see an ent within a week who scheduled me a CT scan that I got the very same day. Literally left his office and drove over to the lab and was getting injected with dye 30 min later. That's like 18 months in free healthcare time. Had surgery to remove within a month and after all of it was over, it wasn't a financial burden at all. I really do not understand redditors except that they go their whole life never getting a real full time job.

I can recognize the major issues with the Canadian healthcare system. Like the fact that it is impossible for me to get a family doctor and the only realistic way for me to see one is a trip to the emergency room which could mean several hours before getting looked at.
That said, my one significant health issue I've dealt with was a breeze. Went to the ER with severe abdominal pain, got seen to quickly. Doctor suspected a gallbladder attack, pumped me full of pain killers until it passed. Scheduled me for an ultrasound in the morning. Confirmed there were gallstones. Surgeon called me the next day and discussed removing my gallbladder, it wasn't a necessary surgery but we agreed it was for the best to remove it, a week later my gallbladder was out. Zero money out of pocket for the whole experience.

Hmmmmm I've got a bait idea.
Make fake accounts on Reddit that looks like US health insurance companies, or basically anything aligned with any rightoid political stance that Redditors seethe at.
Message leftoids comic artists to "commission" certain comics.
See what happens.
If they sperg out and go public, great. That'll cause drama and then drama agents can point to this pizzacrap and say it's obvious that's what's happened here.
If they accept it, also great but it'll take more work but it could lead to leaked screenshots from other drama agents pretending to be screeching leftoids.
It's a brilliant plan and I'm fully committed to it but I'm just real busy right now. Seize the moment and all.

Healthcare isn't really that expensive if you have insurance through your company. Do 99% of redditors that b-word about american healthcare just not have a job?
Do you deserve to complain if you're a freeloader?

The important thing to understand is that though most Americans are doing well financially, the majority also think that other Americans are struggling. There was this Economist article where they polled people and 80% said that they were personally doing well but also 80% said that most people were struggling. Every American thinks there are faceless masses of struggling impoverished Americans crushed under medical debt and inflation, they just haven't met any.

There are some healthcare plans where if you don't read the fine print you can really get fricked. Example:
Had a kid a couple years ago, we were on foidwife's insurance. Figured it was state employee insurance, we're good, right? Well turns out that the max deductible still required 10% of all costs from the insured after that. $8k out of pocket as a hospital bill after insurance was a fricking surprise lmao
We were able to foot it just fine, but switched over to my insurance right after for a full coverage after deductible plan, and got a little more wise after that pain in the butt

Well whatever ours was on that plan, I can see how it would wreck the types of people who can't readily pay for a few grand within a month or two.
Funny side point: I remember going over the itemized bill and the dichotomy between two points made me laugh:

200 oxy pills: $1.80 total

Coinsurance is really common but there's typically a max out of pocket. Which was probably close to 8k for a family plan. So it's not really infinite, and you can't incur costs above a certain limit (probably around 10k for a family plan) per year.
