Edit: after discussion with family, this was Assyrian, which is different and all Assyrians are Christian. Same sort of cultural stuff applies than with Lebs though.

Also on update, the parishoners in the church called their fam and a crowd of 500 people blocked police and ambos from entering, throwing bricks and shit since they wanted the police to release the guy to the mob so they could bash him. Meanwhile for the 3 hours inside the church, injured parishoners and the bishop could not get full on medical attention / transported to the hospital because of the blood thirsty mob. Welp my experience is that most Lebanese in Western Sydney are Christians who emigrated here. And the Christian ones don't generally cause too many issues.

However despite not being Muslim, the family culture is such that the sons are babied by their mothers (who they don't respect since she's a woman) until they are palmed off to a Lebanese girl who continues babying them as their wife. The problem is that teachers are primarily female and thus they act like stupid disruptive fricks and never learn anything that might make them productive and not poor. It's also a 50/50 as to whether they are ever disciplined by their father's over this as well.

Meanwhile many Lebanese girls are basically raised to take care of their younger siblings as Mum #2 (if their mother works) and as such are encouraged to basically be as vapid as possible to find a man to baby. However being in Australia, they tend to realise they have opportunity and to get as educated as possible to avoid being a broodmare, though never to the same volume as badly as Muslim girls.

Additional issues come from many bikkie gangs exploiting Lebanese wannabe gangsters as low level drug runners because they want the street cred of getting caught.
