They proposed a 17% increase that started in Jan and it turns out it was an average increase and peak hours was actually raised by almost 30%. This started during our major icestorm and everyone woke up to 700 dollar bills just because they ran their heat during one of the worst winter storms in our history. PGE told everyone to not run their heat.
Now theyre proposing another big increase and doing stupid shit like this. The movement to make them a public utility is growing and will come to a head in the next couple of years.
Their ceo makes millions a year btw and gave themselves a huge pay bump in Jan while they were fricking all of us.

Just FYI, your furnace may not automatically run your blower, nearly every standard american thermostat installation has a separate G wire for just the blower that the thermostat auto-engages for heat, cool or air movement. Be careful and always try to find installation manuals for your equipment before screwing with it

I'm still annoyed that Google/Nest pulled some stragatronics with the Nest thermostats.
You cannot run just the fan without having it set to heat or cool. There's a good 2-3 months out of the year where it's pretty mild and we'll have the doors/windows open and just want the blower to circulate air. But the only way to do it is to set the thermostat to Heat, disable scheduling, set a ridiculously low temperature so the furnace can't accidentally kick in if it's a mild enough day, THEN use the manual "run the fan for x hours" setting. We like the house to be mid 60s at night whenever possible.
It's the only thermostat I've ever seen where you can't just say "run the fan" without having a temperature setpoint.
