In fairness in this case the character is a male who dresses and presents as female but canonically he isn't trans because he doesn't have any desire to be a girl or enjoy it. It's because he got bullied for being small and weak so he pretends to be a girl so him being small and weak would seem natural. His goal is to get stronger so he can be confident in his masculinity.
