Even babies show a clear preference for attractive faces. A beautiful face is not inherently sexual; it is universally recognized as aesthetically appealing. These people need to stop copingโit's genuinely pathetic to watch. (292)
Please tell me what it is about her face (not her bald head, her face) that isn't attractive. (-25)

Contemporary scientific literature agrees that beauty has an objective component. A meta-analysis shows that people both within and across cultures agree on who is beautiful, and beauty strongly influences life outcomesโthose perceived as beautiful tend to have better lives. The ability to recognize beauty begins in infancy, as other studies show, which underscores its importance in human nature. Our brains have a specialized area, the fusiform face area (FFA), that processes faces and attractiveness. If beauty were purely subjective, this wouldn't exist.Companies will pay millions to have a supermodel associate with their brand because a beautiful face, even on a billboard, triggers measurable hormonal responses in consumers. This reaction makes them more likely to become patrons and purchase the product. The impact of beauty on consumer behavior is objectively quantifiable and drives marketing success. No, it doesn't. This is a subjective opinion on how people should act, and not e... (0)

The product you're paying for is a compelling, interactive story. Are you saying that sexual attraction is a prerequisite for you to find a story compelling?I really did my best here to leave out the s*x jokes. The RealDoll joke was simply too easy here, and I expect praise for that. (8)

I think for many people, the issue isn't whether the person is attractive or not, or what race or sexuality they are, we just get annoyed when we feel like the creators of the art are making their artistic decisions to make some kind of clumsy political statement.
I think that's the real issue here. Sure, there are chuds who genuinely don't want to play as a black character or whatever, but I feel like probably most people don't care about that, they just don't want to feel like they are being preached to. It's not only viscerally annoying, it also ruins one's immersion in the art.
It's hard to truly enjoy a work of art, whether it's a book or a movie or a game or whatever, when one constantly feels the presence of its smug preachy soyperson creators hovering over it.
We want fun and entertainment for frick's sake. If I put on a James Bond movie I want to see James Bond doing cool James Bond shit, acting sophisticated and flirting with women. I wouldn't want it to be some kind of morality play about transgender immigrants that is written by upper middle class hipsters who live on a diet of psychiatric medicines.
If I play a game about a Civil War battle, I wouldn't want there to be some slave characters shoehorned into it to preach to me. Yeah I think that slavery is bad, now let me get back to trying to figure out how to get around the Union flank for frick's sake. It might surprise some game makers but you know, all those dead soldiers in my Civil War game? They're not actually dead, or even human at all... it's... wait for it... a fricking work of fiction designed for entertainment, with any possible moral or otherwise education that I derive for it being a fringe benefit but not the core of why I engage with it. I can enjoy trying to defeat the fictional Union army in my game without supporting slavery and the thing is, if I was some kind of chud who couldn't do that, I doubt some soy hipsters could change my mind with their preaching anyway.
