Because despite all the Trump-stuff there is a deeply ingrained sense that leftists are currently at the controls. Chuds are the minority.

I think mainly because highly online chuds on /pol/ have had a pattern for years of getting really excited about momentous happenings like imminent nuclear war, or Drumpf executing all his political opponents, or whatever, and then being disappointed when it doesn't happen. So they themselves started to say "nothing ever happens".
