Has nobody stopped to ask even a few logistic leaps of logic in this fanfic?

Like, was this gaming buddy going to go to this Christmas party? Why is the gift on the tree if it was for someone he plays online with? Wouldn't you send that via package? And if he was actually coming to the party, surely this means he's an old friend of his and probably has more history with him? Why would you even admit to ruin the whole point of a secret Santa by stating you knew who was assigned to who? And then ruin it even more by opening the present before the party even started?

I need to read more of these to sharpen up on writing coherently and without plot inconsistencies
