Horrible idea is she punjabi? None of the big cities are nice to visit but Amritsar is an old city on top it has heritage tourism and some parts developed properly for it but the city itself is among the worst I've ever been to.

Why Chennai? Its a concrete jungle and extremely hot and humid 365 days a year. If you're in region Kerala is better, never been but it should be similar to Goa and the whole state is like a suburb(same for Goa tbh). Has decent tourist infra too.
Yeah def most of our tourism isn't really something unique to this place. Only exception is heritage tourism, if you are into sculpture especially I think we have probably best collection outside Europe. In a completely different style. And mountains, not as many 4000 meter alti cities anywhere else. EA/SEA would probably be better bang for buck. With budget flight routes opening up a lot of our people are going to same destinations lol, I like it tho less of a crowd to deal with.
