Even Redditors admit Trump is right on r/worldnews

Anyone who has seen a cartel execution video knows that these people are indeed terrorists. The atrocities that they commit are a warning to those that oppose them, be they business rivals, or simply civilians that don't want drug trafficking in their town

Just last year in the Mexican elections over 60+ politicians were killed by the cartels trying to influence politics.

:#pepemexican:

As a Mexican, I'm surprised Cartels weren't labeled as terrorists. I dislike Trump as much as anyone else.... but I agree with him on this one.

:#marseymexican:

How are they not terrorists? I don't like Trump but how are people who hang freshly skinned people from stop lights to scare the shit out of the population not terrorist? They kill dozens of politicians every election cycle down there . 170 plus attempted assassinations. In one election cycle.

Ahh shittt it hit 100#. I just wanna give a shout out the Poland!

One thing that really made me realize that US foreign policy is garbage is when I realized that our tax money has been used for 20 years to chase some insane Muslims on the other side of the planet, meanwhile gangs of sadistic torturers out of a horror movie are massacring people regularly right across the border and the US hasn't even launched one drone strike.

If it makes you feel better, the US has been doing more or less legal military intervantions in LatAm against cartels for over a decade now. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't.

More like since the 50's. Direct action stuff too and not just the CIA arms dealing shenanigans.

The last time the US went into Mexico to sort out their domestic issues it wasn't received well.

Also Mexico has no oil and is already buddy buddy with the US so where's the cost vs. benefit? Some beaners die because Mexico is a failed state, so what?

i mean the US enraging the cartels would almost certainly end in attacks on US soil lol.

right now the cartels generally stay in mexico and the US more or less stays out of mexico, you start wars with them and they'll probably respond.

i actually support military action against them, but how that unfolds remains to be seen.

Cartels would lose 100% of the time in any serious cartel vs America war. The thing is Trump is more than willing too escalate until he gets what he wants, and would do whatever short of launching a nuke.

would they lose? probably, would they cause massive domestic terror attacks in America and make a prolonged fight unfeasible? yes.

i don't think you guys realize how much damage they could cause.

you can't win a guerilla war as has been demonstrated many times before, they will just operate deeper and deeper from the jungle and that's it

You totally can, as has been demonstrated many times before. France in Algeria around '68, the US and South Vietnam during the Tet offensive. Those wars were lost to domestic enemy, journ*lists and other liberals. Trump seems to have started pretty strong on this front.

The US set an example for an entire region of the world halfway across the world for destroying two buildings full of American r-slurs.

The gangs are torturing non-Americans so it doesn't matter too American interests. The kino part is Pablo the maneating with a skin jack made out of 58 different Mexicans still apologizes too the US if a single American gets hurt on his turf.

The other day I joked that because my daily accrued interest went up by 1Β’ between Sunday and Monday, the economy is healing thanks to Trump taking office. Did the "wedding cake" fallacy to imply that "at that rate, my interest will be an extra $3.65/day by next year!"

Checked again two days later now and it's gone up another 2Β’. Is my shit actually going up that fast? Wtf

I need to find a decent interest calculator because now I'm genuinely curious how much it'll go up in one year, assuming interest rate stays steady and I don't make any further contributions.

I can easily find out what my balances will be one year from now, but I'm curious about what my daily accrued interest would be at that higher balance. Every calculator focuses on monthly/annual

Edit: since i know what my theoretical balance will be, it's principal * interest * (1/365). Looks like if absolutely nothing changes, I'll earn ~5,500 in interest and the daily accrued will go up 65Β’ by this time next year. Not fantastic but not terrible either. I'm not willing to do anything with risks

I'm extremely risk-adverse. I'd rather have secure minimal growth than potential massive growth.

I do have some stocks, all of which lost the majority of their value.

Even though it pisses some people off, I have ~115k spread between a HYSA and a couple CDs. It barely offsets inflation at 5% APY but it's safe. I can't lose 96% of it like I did with CHPT.

As @Grue knows, I reserve my massive growths for other subjects

Uhm those HUMANS you're labeling "terrorists" are just poor victims of capitalism. Crime and poverty go hand in hand. Instead of demonizing them for trying to survive, why don't you fix the problems being caused by the rich elite that force them to turn to a life of crime?

Many are actually saying this is so we can invade and take mexico. Yea because that's what Trump wants, more brown people in the country

They can never keep their beliefs on Trump straight. Is he racist? Then why would he want mexico to be a state it makes no sense

Well he literally said he wants to do a soft invasion at one point. Whatever that means.

The United States has always been hesitant to label cartels as terrorists because it gives Mexican nationals a much stronger claim to seek asylum in the US. If the cartels are just criminal gangs, then Mexico just has a crime problem and that doesn't justify a claim for asylum under US law, however if the cartels are considered terrorists, then by extension the US government views Mexico in a state of active civil war and fleeing a civil war is a fairly open & shut case justifying asylum. Theoretically every Mexican citizen that's currently illegally in the United States now has a claim to seek asylum, so we'll see how the Trump administration handles that claim.

Someone actually typed this out and thought it made sense.
