There are refineries in Europe that can handle tar sand crude but Canada hardly sends any crude there or China

95% of their crude comes here to be refined. The idea that Canada can just start shipping all that overseas is ludicrous

Even if the logistics worked out, euros would cry about the climate implications

They say "discount" because it's less than what other countries might get for their crude.

But that's because Canadian crude is shit quality.

They don't understand that not all crude oil is equivalent. They think it's like selling fresh water where the product is basically the same everywhere.
