You farm greebles to put in the greeble machine that give you an upgrade to +5% greebles collected and then you just keep doing that forever. But you can do it on a TRILLION identical planets with very slightly cosmetically different greebles! And now some of those greebles are on procedurally generated mountains!

It's not like anything else, like there's no baseline for comparison to be all "it's like X mixed with Y's this and Z's that," it's very much its own thing which makes explaining it completely useless because there's zero frame of reference for people to build from :( NMS is very weird and incredibly unique.

Tbh the big thing that bothered me with NMS is how slow traversing a planet without a ship is. They have exocraft but they're all painfully slow to the point that I struggle to see the point of them. Jetpack shouldn't be faster than the car.

This is the most significant update since NEXT which by definition cannot be topped
Origins has been overthrown
It's all "endgame" content though - you need to have completed the main quest and then the autophage questline which is only accessible after the main quest and I think that's neat actually lol
Locking this much stuff behind the quest you can only do after doing the main quest is really cool from a new player perspective
