Absolutely nothing that the "independence fighters" ever did contributed in any way to Korean independence. They got their independence entirely because the USA defeated Japan and was nice enough to give it to them.
I'm not a fan of collaborators in occupied countries in WW2 but this was a totally different situation. Japan took over in 1910. There was nobody to come help them. They asked the Americans. We declined. So what were people supposed to do? Spend the rest of eternity not having any cops? Even after WW2 breaks out, Korea is never anywhere near the front lines. There was never any consideration made by the US to land there. In the last days of the war Korea could have been liberated by the Americans after the atomic bomb or the Soviets after they rolled over Manchuria. They were lucky enough to get both.
In all the Korean media I've ever seen, you want to know the ratio of every time the US liberating Korea is mentioned versus the "independence fighters"? Sorry, you can't divide by 0.

It's not really a bill I think, more of a formal demand by the opposition that the government needs to use harsher measures against (illegal) immigration/asylum applicants. In a survey done before the vote on that motion, about 60% of people surveyed agreed with the need for harsher restrictions. German reddit of course is sneeding at this with reactions usually being to compare the AfD to the NSDAP, that people only think migration is important because right-wing media tells them to, that issues stemming from migration need to be solved by investing more into institutions taking care of them (i.e. social workers), that the blame for problems with migration lies with previous governments and the occasional
. These discussions are all completely pointless imo because barely anyone ever bothers to first distinct whether they are talking about regular legal migration or asylum seekers (let alone where they come from) and so it just turns of into an eternal game of cat and mouse.
Really though, the sheer contempt some of them have for the "average" voter would make US libs on reddit look like salt of the earth tradesmen types. They unironically hate normie Germans so much it's actually kind of crazy to see.

Every country is cracking down on illegal immigrants now that the experiment is over and we have global proof that illegal immigration has too many downsides to actually work out. Restrictions must be loosened up via legal immigration over time and never shortcut through illegal immigration as governments cannot track illegal immigration and make alterations to national policy adequately with an unknown variable that would impact every major decision.
If the US and Europe are willing to take in anybody without a criminal record I support it, but they must all be immigrating through legal means. Same for India.
