Today had a bit of an interesting development.

Hermitcraft, upon receiving the proof that Iskall dared to flirt with adult women in private, gave the man 90 mins to respond before axing him and scorching his career
Several Hermitcraft members have come out to post on Twitter, and Twitter in response to Iskall's video talking about his "cancellation"
All of these are vague and nebulous, but very obvious what they are referencing.

What an interesting thing to say...
He's essentially saying that Iskall deserves to have his income and reputation uprooted without even caring to hear what his side of the story.
Also interesting to note that Welsknight is barely even part of Hermitcraft as it is, his last upload being over 6 months ago. Only uploading dogshit 2012 lets plays nobody gives a shit about.

Interesting that she calls him a liar, but I have no idea what he even arguably lied about in his video when he straight up confirms that he did flirt with women, and he just says it's my private life.

And as all these tweets came out at the same time, it's very obvious this is coordinated and not just me being a schizo

All of this vague posting is like a Teenage girl posting "deep" lyrics on her Facebook after a break-up
Genuinely pathetic. I'd respect them a lot more if they just straight up tweeted "Iskall keep yourself safe"
But yes this continues to be crazy how big of a response and attempt to erase the mans reputation of seemingly nothing.
I kind of want to believe there's some truly horrid stuff we don't know about that is the cause behind this awful behavior.
But the Minecraft space is filled with the worse people possible that it's entirely likely they are all just backstabbing snakes all the way through.

The takeaway I'm getting from this is that you can't trust people in the space to have your back. They will all drop you in a second. Also never use your social media career as a dating outlet. Or ideally just never date at all. And if you do, follow the religious rules of never interacting with a women 1 on 1 who isn't your wife.

I think the main takeaway is clear, make sure your content and audience is dependent on other people. Its only terminally online minecraft strags that gaf about and if you can cut them out, you should. If you're a genuinely entertaining creator, you wont need to rely on others for content

And I think it's a little more than that. Even if you never collab, if your audience can be convinced to care then you are screwed. I think pretty much any Minecraft creator could be canceled by other Minecraft creators due to audience overlap and the general "moral values" that permeate the space.

I disagree. Even people who get cancelled for legit stuff often still have an audience afterwards. Sure you might see a short-term loss of subscribers but unless its something you could get deplatformed for, I think most cancelled youtubers with an independent audience can easily bounce back. Look at Johntron, Dream, Mr. Beast or other big content creators that have been cancelled a bunch of times. The average viewer just wants to sit down and watch their slop. Also remember that most Minecraft viewers are like 8, so they probably won't even know wtf is happening in youtube drama anyways

That's true. If you don't get deplatformed and can make content alone you will still retain an audience afterwards. The MC community honestly seems a bit older to me. Like tweens who are all extremely para-socially invested. But maybe you are right. I think a lot of channels with child audiences can actually get away with more because the kids aren't even aware of any drama going on.
