Why is it a heat map tho? Usually heat maps are used to show spatial data, but this isn't spatial data at all - all the items are along a single axis.

Wouldn't a pair of line plots, with the "closeness" of the object on the X-axis and the relative points given on average on the Y-axis, make much more sense? It would let you directly compare them on top of each other for example.
