:marseyhmmm: Kinda confused here since I don't remember names so good. Why is he getting money and why can Musk just unilaterally turn that money off? Was this just some random agency deciding to give him a bazillion dollaridoos in graftbux?

I'm not really a fan either. Most of my family seems to be letting it ride for a year or two and seem convinced this isn't necessarily doomed to failure but I dunno. I don't trust this tariff stuff and I REALLY don't trust musk. (If I was trump I'd have dumped him after the impregnate taytay comments tbh)

I don't think its an awful idea, it's kind of like pardons. If the President can't unilaterally increase the budget but can only unilaterally cut stuff.Just as the President can't unilaterally charge someone for a crime but can forgive them. It basically works only to weaken government/tyranny and not increase it. Sure it can be abused obviously but the biggest risk; massive government spending or unfair trials can't happen and instead the President's only tool is to weaken their own administrative power. Think that may have good incentives.

Elon Musk has actually seized control over the US Treasury and is unlawfully impounding payments without congressional approval. Or at least, that is what Musk has been saying on Twitter.

Nixon tried it, so Congress banned it. Now Musk is doing it again. He's more or less daring the SCOTUS to rule his activities unlawful. They'll probably let him run wild for a while and then reel him in on their own schedule.

He can't but Musk/Trump are pushing some innovative heresies theories about what the president and some random peepeelicker can do. Kind of like how their kind perverted the Christian religion into something that would help them steal more.
