THREE DAYS NOTICE!

In today's market, even a month can be tight to secure new housing and move all of your worldly possessions

Frick America (Iowa). Late capitalist hellhole.

Iowa has perhaps the oddest combination of conservative and liberal values in the US

:marseynotes: Interesting the only thing I ever know about Iowa is that Selzer poll drama last year.

They are mostly like their Great Plains neighbors but they have a tiny bit of a cosmopolitan streak you would see from a coastal state. They voted for Obama both times, of course. They've dropped in the standings lately, but they used to have some best ranked K-12 education that they were proud of. It's dropped in the rankings a bit too, but I remember when I was applying to colleges Grinnell was ranked like #2 for liberal arts schools. It's like someone dropped Vassar or Amherst in the middle of a corn field.

This is one of those threads that either full of bots or just people guessing how things work. You're not kicked out of the residence in three days, you have three days to pay before the eviction is filed.

The decision is kind of interesting because it clarifies that yes it's important to read the whole bill instead of assuming one line has nothing to do with the rest of it. Most other states have already mental gymnastics their way out of it or just flat out ignored it.

You know Reeeeedditors aren't going to read the article. They are, however, going to :soycry: about it because they 100% don't pay their rent

California is also three days notice for reference. To start the 6 month process.

Eviction process where I live:

1. Give between 10-30 days notice depending on the reason, unless it's waived in the lease

2. File for eviction diversion which lasts for 30 days.

3. Then, file in court with a hearing scheduled within 30 days.

4. Get a judgment of possession which can be appealed within 10 days and isn't final until then.

5. Get a writ of possession and serve it on the tenant, then wait for 11 days.

6. Get an alias writ of possession, which is when the sheriff actually removes the tenant.

:marseysuicide: In all, through no delay of your own and even if the tenant offers no defense the law can make you wait 81 days before eviction really happens for real (assuming no appeal).
